Bird Photos

Ever since I was quite young, I’ve always been intrigued by birds — such magnificent creatures, held aloft in the heavens — and spent many a day memorizing their intricate calls — the red-winged blackbird with its conk-e-reee-er or the chickadee with its namesake chick-a-dee-dee-dee-dee. However, for years afterwards, that hobby slowly glided into obscurity, dropped for other interests. Yet, starting last year, I happened upon a new camera, one that could take true-to-life images of these feathered friends. And so my hobby began once more.

During my recent trip to the United Kingdom, specifically London, I managed to snag a multitude of photos of these fascinating feathered folk, a handful of which are enclosed within this article for you to feast your eyes on. Enjoy!

Devin Atalay is a current junior at Northwest Academy. Fond of the sciences, he is often found at the microscope as he scans with surgical precision through an unassuming sprout of moss, or behind his camera, trying so hard to photograph some dastardly evasive songbird (Or, more likely, on his phone/computer, like the screenager he is).
